DAPHNE B.
Principal, Gratia Interiors
Daphne Brusso, a Miami-born designer with Peruvian and Cuban roots, brings a rich perspective to every space she transforms. Her fascination with interiors began in childhood, inspired by a life-size dollhouse her father built where she chose the finishes—complete with plantation shutters and handcrafted pendant lighting. It was a formative experience, igniting a lifelong passion for the intersection of personal design tastes and spatial design.
Originally on a path toward law with a Political Science degree from Florida State University, Daphne’s career pivoted after a year working for the U.S. State Department in Rome. Living amid the timeless architecture of Europe’s "outdoor museums," she felt drawn to the power of spaces to tell stories. This passion led her to pursue studies in interior architecture at UCLA, where she deepened her commitment to sustainable design through her work with eco-conscious furniture brand Cisco Home. Earning her LEED AP certification, Daphne honed a style that seamlessly merges artisanal craftsmanship with modern sensibilities.
In founding GRATIA Interiors, Daphne channels her multicultural background and design philosophy into a practice that celebrates grace, community, and enduring elegance. Her work is defined by a thoughtful dialogue between architecture and the lives lived within it, always placing authenticity and sustainability at the forefront. Fluent in four Latin languages, Daphne’s approach to design is as layered and sophisticated as her history, creating spaces that transcend trends and resonate with timeless beauty.
Now based in Los Angeles, Daphne continues to design across California, where she lives with her husband and two children. Each project reflects her dedication to creating environments that are as visually stunning as they are deeply meaningful—spaces where culture, beauty, function, and narrative effortlessly coexist.
